- English / Dutch Sean, As its the start of another season with the boat on the water, I would just like to say that; having tried out SafeBoatSkin, on your recommendations, last year I was delighted to find that all the boat required was a light washing down in comparison to the usual rigorous washing I had to give it on other years. I had thought this was just another one of those products on the market; and, to be honest, didnt think it would be as easy to apply or maintain throughout last season. My boat is kept in West Cork, during the summer months, and indoors over the winter. When in use I found that all I needed to do was give a quick wash every so often and the boat was back as new. The appearance of the boat had a light brownish staining; which when washed, disappeared completely. The boat moved faster, performed better all round and there was even a reduction in fuel consumption. It was easier, by far, to ease out of turns and no growth was visible on the hull. One application lasted the full season. Costing 80 Euro; one bottle covered my boat; following the given instructions. Hull, tubes, engine leg, above and below the water can all be treated. One days work for a full season on the water! How bad is that! I will most definitely be using SafeBoatSkin in the future and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who wants to protect and enhance the performance of any boat on the water. I bought it from my local dealer; RIB Centre, Cork if anyone wants to buy this brilliant product. John Murphy.
Ø JANUARY 2005. To all Boat Enthusiasts, We were asked by RIB Centre, Cork to test one of their products on our Ski Boats which are used on fresh water. We had spent years of dealing with peat coloured staining on our hulls; which not alone damaged them but also detracted considerably from the overall appearance and value of our craft. Even those that were bought new; after a couple of weeks had lost their lustre and newness. Unable to antifoul, we were resigned to the fact that there was nothing out there as a solution to what was a serious on-going problem for us. Extremely sceptical, we agreed to test SafeBoatSkin on the Ski Boats. It was simple to apply, ensuring that it went on as thin as possible. Each coat had to be left approximately a half an hour before re-application in order to adhere properly to the hull. SafeBoatSkin dried clear, and after applying three to four coats, it was left a further eight hours before launching. We tested one of the Ski Boats on the water, one of my colleagues driving while I sat on the bank over-seeing. There was an impression of incredible smoothness, reduced drag and less bite when taking the turns. Performance increased and there was also a obvious reduction in fuel consumption. On taking the craft out of the water, the hull was almost dry and immaculate. All that was required was a light washing by sponging and the hull was as new. The reason for SafeBoatSkin, as opposed to SafeSpeedSkin; as you might assume for powercraft, was to ultimately protect the hulls from harm and damage; as a direct result of marine growth, etc. The application of SafeBoatSkin lasted the full season. What we might have thought expensive; at 80, was; in fact, money very well spent, as we virtually had eliminated the time spent toiling over cleaning our craft. I would highly recommend SafeBoatSkin to all boat owners. I have spend enough on my boats and at last I have a product I can protect them with. RIB Centre, Cork had all the information I required and were able to advise me on the product best suited to my needs. Brian Fox.

The Jacksons [mailto:ajac3589@bigpond.net.au] - Dear Ken, As you know we put 2 light applications of SafeBoatSkin on my 22ft Signature Cruiser which has a fiberglass hull. The applications were done by hand using a cloth and not under ideal conditions as the boat was on a cradle with not too much ground clearance. The boat was then left in the water for 2 weeks which under Australian conditions would mean considerable build up of salt deposit and crustacean. We were delighted on taking the boat out of the water to find only a light salt build up which came off quite easily with a normal rinse and wipe. The product looks to have good anti-foul properties. It works!! Have just taken the RIB out
of the water at Crosshaven Marina. This area is well known for its high growth
rate. It was in the water for a total of 4 and a half weeks.I will admit that
there was some orange-brown staining on the transom and lower parts of the hull.
At first I thought that the safeboatskin had failed but a damp cloth removed
this and I had the whole boat clean in 10 mins.
Ø Country: UK England - Town: London - Interests: General sport boating Length: 6.73mtrs - Engine: Volvo 5.0Gxi Duo Prop OK, I am not a ribber, but I can say that it works fantasticly on mine, even the drive stays weed free as I applied it on that. It makes antifoul look like some old fashioned brew, but then again I am only speaking about my boat, it may not suite all. It saves ruining the hull and keeps it looking nice, but I must say that after a while it looks like a Tea stain on the bottom, but this comes off with a gentle wipe which I do on the trailer. It is meant for boats that go in and out of the water [comment SaeBoatSkin®: yes it works very well for that, basically SaeBoatSkin® should be re-applied once per season] , so ideal for people who keep it on a berth but occasionally take it out to trailer like me. It's pretty cheap considering, so worth a punt IMHO.

Fair enough it will take a good day to put on the 3/4 required coats and you will have to wait 8hrs after the last coat before putting the boat in the water, but the results are worth it. After 6 wks in the water the boat came out and the transom looked like it had some nasty staining on it. However I quickly realised this was not the case by simply running my finger through it to reveal the hull sparkling underneath. Took me about 1 min to wipe the transom clean with a cloth. The rest of the hull was easier (more water movement!!). There were no barnicles or weed, just a thin orange/brown layer that simply wiped off in one go!!
Ø In preparation for the Daily Mail British International Harmsworth Trophy in August this year, we treated our Scorpion RIB 'Hot Lemon' with SafeSpeedSkin(R). Application was straightforward and people commented very favourably on the smoothness and clean appearance of the hull.. However, the real benefit was on the water where we judged the gain to be around 1.5 knots, a real bonus to us! After three heats, we finished 3rd overall against some strong international competition; this was a tremendous result for us and we will certainly be using SafeSpeedSkin(R) in future".
Ø The Rib Centre Cork Avery special thanks to the Rib Centre, Cork, for their advice and go faster cream SAFEBOATSKIN. I really have to eat my words! I was astonished at what this simple product could achieve, during the world speed record week at Lake Windemere. First the speed increased by 9 mph. but, that was not the amazing thing, when the boat was taken out of the water the bottom of the hull dried instantly. We were all amazed at this. The boat decks are highly polished with wax and the rain water just sits on them in droplets. Where the Safeboatskin was applied they were totally dry with a sheen, although not smooth to touch. The other amazing thing is, when the race boats are put back in the truck we normally have a lot of moisture and condensation on the bottom of the hulls, which usually lasts for a couple of days. With your product there was no moisture at all. This works the same on cavler composite as it does on wooden hulls. Thank you very much for letting us have the experience of testing your product. Please tell us that you will give us some for our Formula 2000 team for 2005. And dont supply our competitors!!!! We need all the advantage we can get. Ø The RIB Centre, Forge Hill, Cork. Dear Sean, Apologies for the delay in getting back to you with my opinion on the use of the SafeBoatSkin. It is a brilliant product. I applied it as you directed and left by Cobra 7.5 on the marina in Crosshaven last year for more than four months. Usually I would have had to take it out every two weeks, at least, and spend nearly a day cleaning the hull. As you know I am mentally allergic to antifouling the hull as it destroys the look of the boat. This has solved all my problems. After taking my rib for a run before taking it out, there was only light staining on the hull, the tubes were completely clean and some light growth on the transom all of which wiped off with a wet sponge. It was like new again. I will definitely be using it again this season. If you ever need anyone to recommend it on your behalf you may certainly give my name as a reference. Again thanks for all you help. Best
regards. Frank O'Halloran - Cork - Ireland
Ø ...(translated)...we have participated in the Dragon Gold Cup sailing race...to optimally perform we treated our boat with 3 layers of SaeSpeedSkin®...the end result was a second Dutch place...we are quite proud of that...it is difficult to say how much SaeSpeedSkin® contributed to that...however, also on behalf of my crew I can say that the result was better then expected... the boat felt good and sailed excellent... we are of the opinion that this certainly also is due to the treatement with SaeSpeedSkin®. I will gladly reccomend SaeSpeedSkin® and am pretty sure that with short most racesailers will apply SaeSpeedSkin®.
Ø ...(translated)...we have applied SaeBoatSkin® with rollers...without any problem my yacht of 10 mtr was ready in 1,5 hr...in first instance we had some growth...hower after we made some speed (4-5 knots.. the growth (including shells etc..) disappeared also on the waterline and did not come back anymore...after our holiday the boat boards were clean, just the opposite from all other years. ...Making some speed once in a while is important for a good result.... In the fall I am going to apply some new layers... then I am ready also for the new season....I am going to treat my second boat as well....in short a happy customer.
Ø ...(translated)...My Sailboat "SCIMITAR" has been sprayed with SaeBoatSkin® in the beginning of this season...I was very sceptical but the product not only met but exceeded the promises made by the distributor. The boat remained virtually clean of all growth also around the waterline (no barnacles, no algea)..even on salt water...Also the treated area's above the waterline remained in much better condition then before.
Ø ... My QuickSilver Speedboat has never ever remained this clean during a season. I am always on salt water. Shells, barnacles etc. have not attached at all. Algea if any could be wiped away very easily... On the picture you see one of my friends lifting the boat to clearly show how clean it is.... also...FASTER...thanks.
Ø SaeBoatSkin® has frightened me somewhat last week. I had not been sailing for a week and a half and the hull of boat, which you treated with SaeBoatSkin® for me, was covered with algae! However when the boat started sailing the algae disappeared again like snow in the sun ...
Ø Thanks for the opportunity to test your safe skin product. For the the wet skiing and snowboarding conditions of the spring time. I find SaeSpeedSkin® to be at its most optimum. For the mild conditions of winter. -5 --0 degree C, your product still glides very well. But for the super cold conditions of -15 and colder, SaeSpeedSkin® (like all other non cold conditioned waxes), starts to slow down a bit. Obviously SaeSpeedSkin® is for the water. So I am not so surprised it works well on snow. But I am surprised at how well it does work on frozen water. Ice style conditions were the snow will often be different speeds depending on altitude. The SaeSpeedSkin® seems to keep the board at a constant rapid glide. For an all mountain good ski glide, you have a great product. For racing you would need to maybe add some fluorination of some kind. But mostly I am very impressed with the smooth, consistent Glide. All together I think you have a good product for speed.
Ø I am a pro tournament pro bass angler for stessl boats, evinrude outboards and trakka clothing. I also share my knowledge and experience in all aspects of fishing and boating at certain boat and tackle shows and charity events in south east Queensland. I've also appeared on channel 10 and in the gold coast bulletin for Paul Burts fishing report. My boat is a 5.2m stessl bass boss twin console with a 135hp evinrude fitch outboard, the on water weight is approximately 1000kg.Running a 19 pitch sst (standard) prop in fresh water top speed was 50mph@ 5000rpm with no more than 1/4 trim, Now after applying marineglide SaeBoatSkin® have picked up to full trim due to increased hull lift with less drag.Top speed now is 52-54mph@ 5600rpm. Ride characteristics of the boat has totally changed, it has turned boating on fresh water into like driving on salt. I am so happy to use and endorse this product, the more speed we get the more fishing time, this is very important for pro tourney's as we compete in timed sessions. SaeBoatSkin® has improved hull lift there for improved rpm which will allow me to run a bigger prop improving speed again, using SaeBoatSkin® is a win win situation no matter what your boat.
Ø This is a letter of thanks for the opportunity to use your product SaeSpeedSkin® , on my skiff at the Queensland state titles in may, The application was easy, our expectation to finish but from the first race we noticed the boat was faster through the water, this built our confidence and our over-all result was 3rd out of eight in our division, a place better than we expected, we were very pleased considering we only finished 3 out of 5 races. We will be using your product in future events.
Ø Initially I was very wary of the Marine Glide product, but since we have applied it to my 25-foot Mustang I have been pleasantly surprised. It was easy and clean to apply and SaeBoatSkin® keeps the boat free from marine life and it goes faster through the water, helping to keep my fuel costs down.
Ø "Thank you for sending your Product for my use on my Olympic Canoe. I believe that the Product HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE. Further testing will tell more... I am excited. Yes. Even if the product produces only 2 inches more glide per stroke... there are 140 strokes in a race... approximately... that equates to 280 inches or 23 feet! That is the difference between 1st and last in many RACES!!!!!!"
Ø We just got back from Firebird Raceway in Phoenix Arizona after running the World Finals of Dragboat racing. We applied your SaeSpeedSkin® to the bottom our world record holding Pro Gas Flatbottom". "What a difference it made in our speeds. At the 1/8mile we had picked up almost 3 mph. We usually run 139-140mph, but we now were running 142-143mph. At the finish line we had picked up the same 2-3 mph. Needless to say, we were very impressed with SaeSpeedSkin®. We also applied SaeSpeedSkin® to the inside of the boat and all of the aluminium. If you have ever been to Phoenix, you know how harsh the water is. The ease with which the boat cleaned up was phenomenal".
Ø Hi we had a chance to try your product, SaeSpeedSkin®, the boat of test was 36' talon cat w/tripple 280 merc's we noticed approx 1 to 3 mph increase on top end, our test was on a Sunday then again the following Sunday weather was the same. I will recommend to others very easy to apply thanks for all your help will be calling when we need more".
Ø Our experience is that, under identical conditions, our boat engines show a 6-8% improvement in rotations per minute, this is a good improvement. We expect with further experience (and perhaps applying SaeBoatSkin® at other parts of the boat to reach even further improvements).
Ø We have tried many anti-fouling products in the past with minimal success but the SaeBoatSkin® actually did what it was designed to do. It also provided additional speed which was a wonderful bonus".
