Background: Both SaƒeBoatSkin® and SaƒeSpeedSkin® have proven themselves very successful in many, many user and user-group (ref: Waterkampioen NL / Broads authority UK) application tests. In addition to the key ‘better than Antifouling’, ‘speed enhancement’, ‘osmosis and UV protection’ and ‘ protection and beautifying’ characteristics the key legal requirement is that the product is ecologically and environmentally safe. SaƒeBoatSkin® and SaƒeSpeedSkin® both, of course, meet the current legal requirements but in addition we want to be ready for the future (EU: Reach regulations) and prove to ourselves that also scientifically SaƒeBoatSkin® and SaƒeSpeedSkin® were ‘perfect’. Sweden is, due to its dependency on coastal waters and fishing industry is the leading country in Europe for strict adherence to environmental water regulations. We therefore, in close cooperation with our Swedish distributor: Ecoway Marine asked the well known Swedish Institute for applied environment research (ITM), Dr. Eklund and Karlsson c.s. – authors of the key ‘Biocide free paints are toxic’ report (Jan 2004, see attached – summary: all biocide free paints are toxic, including those from well known manufacturers like International Yacht and Hempel and US Gloss) to study and evaluate SaƒeBoatSkin® and SaƒeSpeedSkin®.
Attached reports describe the evaluation process of SaƒeBoatSkin® and
SaƒeSpeedSkin® which is similar to the study done before (attached). We are very proud that ITM which until now (see attached) was very critical and negative about the so called ‘biocide free’ antifouling products have found that SaƒeBoatSkin® / SaƒeSpeedSkin® meet the very stringent ecological and environmental requirements.
